Faisal Brimah (London, UK). Growing up I would always be drawing filling up sketchbooks with all manner of things from real life and my imagination. I would go on into my teenage years teaching myself how to paint, experimenting with oils and acrylics.

It was not until I became an adult that I took some art classes from the talented Patricia Evangelista of Sfumato art studios. Practising with the media of mainly oil paints for the past few years,

I try to express what I am feeling through my work. I enjoy using bright colours and contrasting between light and dark tones. Bright colour combinations with an abstract contemporary feel. Currently I have been concentrating on wildlife, trying to painting animals with a contemporary style.

I have a degree in design, multimedia  and technology from Brunel University, which I believe gives me a different aspect on art.

The vision I have in my head before I start any new canvas is to paint how I draw to get the same expressions and freedom in my lines into my paintings as I do with my drawings.

I started out painting landscapes and then moved onto portraits, which allowed me to take part in the Sky Arts Portrait Artist of the Year 2018.

However my soul has always been attracted to wildlife, so I am pulled to paint them whenever I get the chance.
